Samik did his Bachelor of Science in Physics in 1998 at the University of Calcutta and then did his Master’s degree in Electronics Science and Technology at the same university in 2000. After that he pursued a PhD degree at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in the Materials Science Centre, Semiconductor Division. He worked on several projects involving MOCVD grown InGaAsP 808 nm laser diode as well as growing thin films of SiNxOy by means of RF Plasma Enhanced CVD and building several CVD reactors for SiC and ZnO & Tungsten Oxide. He went to Japan in October 2006 for a Postdoc at the Shizuoka University, Research Institute of Electronics. In 2007 Samik joined the Labindia Instruments Kolkata office as a product specialist for the Nano division supervising AFM & Raman business. Currently he is serving in Labindia Instruments Pvt Ltd as a General Manager. He is also supervising several other sales and service personnel, managing businesses and finding technologies and solutions for the scientific communities in the Indian market.
